Expanding size in Kubrick

posts: 6

Hi all - I'm using Kubrick at my site http://www.casesofinterest.com and it is working quite well (trunk branch).

I have commented "in" the minimum width, so that kubrick.css has this setting:

  1. sioptionscentered {

min-width:800px;
text-align:center;
}

This makes the width wider than, say the narrow width I am seeing here at themes.tw.o

What I would like to do is have the width expand and contract with the browser size. How do I set that up?

Thanks for any tips.

On a related note - the size stays small in ie6 and the logo doesn't stay centered.

OK, so I fixed all. For those interested:

1. Commented back out the min-width of the sioptionscentered - don't need it now.

2. Changed left and right margin widths from 12% to 2% - MUCH better

td#leftmargin {
width: 2%;
background: #E7E7E7}

td#rightmargin {
width: 2%;
background: #E7E7E7}

Hi,

Glad you found a good solution. Generally on these theme ports I try to emulate the original look. Of course Kubrick when used on WordPress, etc., normally only has two columns. With all three columns displaying, it's a tight fit in Tiki. Most of the Tiki Kubrick sites I've seen use only one side column, but reducing the margins as you did is a good solution to get a wider content area.

Thanks. I hear you on emulating the look. The issue for me was not just column width, but the fact that widening the window widened the gray as much or more as the main text. As resolution and fonts get smaller, this led to a very strange look where there was too much gray!
