Are you working on the default tiki-view_blog.tpl file (in templates/ directory)? Some themes have their own version (in the templates/styles/[themename]/ directory), which has priority over the default version.

Actually, I had placed my versions in the directory you reference in the hope that it was a priority directory taking precedence for theme specific changes. No joy.
I'm in the midst of relocating the site now. I think what I'm going to do when I'm done is just take a step back and try starting over more methodically. For one thing I'm not going to set the "CDPATH" variable at the new location which may have confused things for me as well. (In one place when I thought I was in another maybe) (:confused😊
