No Clue

I have no idea what I'm doing! I seem to have kinda figured out the CSS side of things (which is fine since I actually know some CSS) but I don't understand any of the php codes and have no clue how to edit the larger structure of my site. Can anyone please direct me to somewhere that can help me step by step? I'm using PLanetfall.

If you look at Planetfall_customizing, you can see basically how the page is put together, at least as far as the big items are concerned. Template Overview describes how Tiki pages are assembled with template files. To modify the Planetfall theme, you may need to edit the templates/styles/planetfall templates. As the template overview says, tiki.tpl basically holds everything; other template files are included in this template, depending on the content to be displayed, etc.

The template files use Smarty syntax, which is simpler than normal PHP.

What to modify and how depends on what modifications you want to make, so if you describe your plans more specifically, maybe we can help here.

Ha ha, thanks, yeah I just have no idea what I'm doing. I've already edited the style of it using the customizing thing Planetfall had on it's page, and I read the Template Overview, and even had a look at Smarty's site but I just can't work out how things are set up and I'm afraid to experiement in case I screw it up badly.

The Reference Desk is my site, what I've done there is edited it from the Planetfall style. The main thing I am looking to doing is putting the left column (main menu) inside the right one (underneath the log in).

I've looked over and over as many pages as I thought relevant but I just can't make sense of it all!

Thanks for your help biggrin

Just in case anyone reads this, I've managed to sort out my own problem as far as the menu goes and I think I can now sort of understand what I'm doing.

Sorry, Libby, I meant to get back to this earlier. Good job sorting things out, but if you have more questions, I'll try to help.
