How to change the Top Bar?

Dear Tiki theme experts,

I just created a site using the featured profile "Personal Blog".

This ends up creating a top bar that includes the following items:

  • Home
  • My Vlog
  • My Social Web
  • My Resume
  • Contact me

I would like to change that top bar to remove the Vlog option, and maybe add a couple other items (can't think of what for now).

I can't figure out how to do this.

I found this page:

http://doc.tiki.org/Top+Bar

which seems to indicate that the Top Bar is specified by entering some CSS or HTML code somewhere under Look and Feel > General Layout. But when I go there, I don't find any code that contains the word vlog, social web etc...

What am I missing here?

Thx.

If I understand correctly, what you need to modify is the horizontal menu in the "top bar". You can check tiki-admin.php?page=look to see what menu Id is specified for the top bar, and/or go to the admin-menus page and check what menu coincides with the menu items you have. Then edit the menu as you like. Menu-editing info is available at doc.tiki.org.

Thx Gary. After much looking around, i had figured this out by myself. In retrospect, I am surprised that I didn't think to go in Admin > Menus. I guess I was expecting to somehow find out about menus by doing a Configuration Search with the word "menu".

The menu-related things that turn up the in preferences search seem to apply to menus in general. Apparently the configuration search is limited to this level of preferences and doesn't get down to menu editing itself.

Maybe there should be a link from the Look and Feel admin page's menu config section to the admin-menus page. But the location of site header setup is changing to modules in Tiki 7 so maybe that arrangement should be checked for use friendliness - the new flexibility will be a challenge, I'm sure 😉 .
