Customizing CSS menus

Hello,

i am theming a vertical css menu - trying to chage the width of the dropshadow under the flyout sections of the menu.

this is hard.

it seems to be an inline style buried in the tiki-user_cssmenu.tpl buried in a smarty variable.

whoa. am i missing something?

How can we dig that out and, generally speaking not have inline styles busting up a theme? is there some admin panel i'm missing?

Menu Separators

I thought the ''separator'' menu option would do what I want, but apparently it's just a logical thing and not an object you can css, is that correct? Please tell me it's not.

What the client wants is this

Link 1  ~~#C00: | ~~  Link 2   ~~#C00:|~~   Link 3

She has this on her existing site which was hand made. Any way to do this without putting html in the menu title?

I tried putting a css border-right on the span.menutext, for example, but that doesn't work because the final menu item would have one also, and you're stuck with the type size.

It would be nice to have a way to stick in separators that could be any arbitrary thing or an image.

Cheers!

Main Nav menu changes id when logged in?

Tiki 6.1
The News theme
Theme control is off
group themes is off

I'm seeing the main navigation menu do this:

div.role_navigation ul#cssmenu__0__

  changes to

div.role_navigation ul#cssmenu__1__

when you log in. Is this normal?

__Update: Never mind, Yes, it is__

The Admin menu becomes menu0 and both of them are ''div.role_navigations'' so the css was driving me mental. But one is in tiki-top and the other one isn't, so we go there. Alllll better now.

Templatelets ?? Or a CSS map?

You won't part me from jqui! I love it!!! But as a newbie I would like to spread my wings a little bit.

Is there a map / document that highlights which css classes affect which parts of the Tiki page(s) ?

I want to do a few minor mods for how forums are listed, and comments appear on Articles, but it's hard to know where to start once the admin menus stop.

-------------

Second suggestion is "mini templates" or "templatelets". CSS snippets that affect specific parts of the tiki page / apps, but keep the look and feel of the main theme ? I think it would be cool, and so easy to just cut and paste into custom.css on Tiki 6.x admin look & feel menu

These can be independent of templates, and thus every one can append their own favourite snippets in true wiki style

Merry XMAS & Happy New Year!!!!!!!

Opera Menu Bug?

Strange one here, can anyone confirm?

In Opera 10.63 on a Mac at least the horizontal navigation menu bar comes up vertical... until you refresh the page, then it's horizonal. If you click away, then navigate back with the menu, it appears vertical again, until you refresh.

exception is the forum page. There that menu appears vertical and refreshing doesn't alter it.

Shadow Layer Example, and Theme Layout Schema

Good morning fellow Tikists,

Can someone point me to an example of a complete Tiki 5 Shadow Layer page? I have found the lovely Shadow Layer admin tab and see Main shadow start: Main shadow end: Header shadow start:, etc. but don't know how to use them.

Also is there an updated view of the Theme Layout Schema? I see the page

http://doc.tikiwiki.org/tiki-index.php?page=Theme+Layout+Schema

noticed the table-less layout diagram at the bottom of the page but don't know if that's current or applies to all themes or what. Also it's a little mysterious and opaque to me, does anyone have a fuller description of any kind?

Cheers,

description of a page in tiki-print_multi_pages.tpl

Hello,

I use the ''__feature_wiki_description__'' acitvate in my theme. What I need is to make a PDF of a strcture which contains hundred wiki pages. The __''tiki-print_multi_pages.tpl''__ doing that and it's perfect.
But I want to display the description instead of the title, and __''tiki-print_multi_pages.tpl''__doesn't allow me to do that.
I'm looking for a way to do that in this template. The code work well for the name, and what I want is ti do the same with desciption. I've tried to replace
{CODE()}    {$pages[ix].pageName}
{CODE}

with
{CODE()}    {$pages[ix].pageDescription}
{CODE}

But It doesn't work. Any tips to customize this code?

{CODE(colors="1",wiki="0",ishtml="0")}
  {section name=ix loop=$pages}
    {$pages[ix].pageName}
    {$pages[ix].parsed}

  {/section}
{CODE}

Best regards,

An html page template

Hi there,

We want to design a page that's a regular html page for our index.php. That is we want to design something that just has a div to contain only a piece of tiki, like the content of the div "tiki-center" and nothing else.

Can someone point me to the how-to on that?

Much appreciated!

Love the new design look for tiki 5 btw.

Cheers,
