twist theme

posts: 13 Ireland

The twist theme is available for download. I am not aware of any issues, but let me know they are found and I will address them. The theme is a page that floats in the center of the screen. It has custom icons for the menu folders.

Gary,
the theme is fabulous! I have now been using it on a couple of sites and find it very presentable. A couple of days ago I changed to twist theme on these two websites:

http://tzgisug.or.tz
http://crc.or.tz

The users are very happy, and as the website manager for both I have had a lot of nice feedbacks on the upgrades. They all think I did a lot of work, but frankly the kudos should go to you.

Unfortunately running a GIS and researcher forum in Tanzania does not earn a lot of money, so there is not much to forward except for a BIG THANKYOU!

Cracking Theme Gary, I'm using it for a couple of my sites tyvm!

To Gary or anyone else who can help...

There is a small problem though, I'm using the site identity feature to put the website name along the "title bar" at the top (where Themes.tikiwiki.org is written on this website).

This works fine on this website....

http://ergodd.zoo.ox.ac.uk/edenphd

but on this website the title is inserted above the title bar.

http://ergodd.zoo.ox.ac.uk/igadweb2

This is still the case if I copy the syntax from the correctly working site and paste it into the incorrectly working site.

Now I'm sure theres a simple explanation, but what have I done???

Thanks in advance,
N

Looks to me like you do not have all of the twist-specific tpl files on the second site. Specifically, look for templates/styles/twist/tiki.tpl and compare on the 2 sites. The former has the twistbanner id and the latter does not, I think. I would check to be sure that all of the files are the same in this folder.

This file was changed in one of the updates, so you could have an older version of the theme on one site.

O.K., how about a 1,2,3 on enabling the tabbed menus? I've read, re-read, tinkered, built menu, enabled...

I have:
menuid=43
options in menu
enabled phplayersmenu
can't find:
site menu to enable
site menu bar to enable

I can assign menuid=43 to a module and make it show up right/left.

What am I missing?

Thanks

The templates/styles/twist/tiki-top_bar.tpl file is where the PHP Layers menu tag is. As shipped, this specifies

Copy to clipboard
{if $feature_phplayers eq 'y' and $feature_siteidentity eq 'y' and $feature_sitemenu eq 'y'} {phplayers id=43 type=horiz} {/if}

So it takes three things to be turned on for the menu to show: PHP Layers, Site Identity, and the site menu feature (admin on the Site Identity admin page). You can be sure all of these are on, or if you don't want to use Site Identity, you can delete (or comment out with "{*" "*}" tags) the "and $feature_siteidentity eq 'y'" condition in the template.
